Job Description

BagTrans are looking for an experienced Night Shift Supervisor for their NSW Depot based in Eastern Creek.

The Role:

The Night Shift Supervisor role is to ensure a safe and cost-effective operation, that ensures both customers and teams members can be at their best every day!

Role Responsibilities:

  • Strong focus on safety and compliance.
  • Background in express freight and FMCG.
  • Motivated self-starter that can work autonomously with attention to detail
  • Experience supervising both transport and warehouse functions.
  • Daily management of the business to achieve planned/budgeted KPIs, cost outcomes, safety measures, and service levels
  • Ensuring the efficient, safe, and secure loading, unloading, movement and packing of merchandise/materials/stock
  • Lead, coach, and mentor direct reports, creating a customer first culture, that delivers great results
  • Effectively communicate with team members and key stakeholders
  • Focus on the continuous improvement of systems and processes
  • Working alongside Truck Drivers and Operations Support areas to ensure the operation of the shift runs according to plan.
  • Performing quality checks on materials/stock and identify and report damages, shortages, or quality deficiencies.
  • Inspecting machinery including forklift and other control equipment to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance in accordance with the sites WHS practices.
  • Keeping updated records of inventory and activity logs
  • As aspects of People Management including but not limited to:
    • Rostering
    • Time and Attendance
    • Performance Management
    • Toolbox Discussions

Key Requirements:

  • Min 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Forklift License (Desirable)
  • Good understanding and experience with TMS
  • Strong written, verbal communication and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge amp; Experience with CoR regulations and Compliance relating to the transport industry.
  • Experience with linehaul and local express transport operations.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of transport operations.
  • Resilience, passion, and ability to work under pressure.
  • A high level of motivation and energy with a strong focus on achieving outstanding customer experience results.
