This exciting new role presents a unique opportunity for a skilled and motivated early to mid-career Mechanical Engineer to join Relectrify. You will play a crucial role in developing cutting-edge mechanical solutions and subsystems for our next-generation battery technology.

As part of this role, you will not only contribute to the improvement of mechanical workflow processes, but also have the chance to author or co-author invention reports and help design the future of our technologies. Additionally, you will provide valuable support in mechanical engineering for both new and existing Relectrify products.

Under the guidance of our Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will have access to mentorship and development opportunity within a company culture of empowerment, purpose, and trust.

Due to the nature of work this position is based on-site in our West Melbourne location, however Relectrify believes in offering flexibility and will consider requests for ad-hoc work from home or adjusted work schedules to accommodate personal commitments.

• Design and release mechanical parts and assemblies. Including product related parts, assembly fixtures and tooling
• Perform engineering calculations or other technical analysis and generate relevant documentation
• Participate in prototype builds and development
• Participate in design reviews and resolve technical issues with input from the team
• Provide support for legacy products, including maintenance and problem solving
• Contribute to continuous improvement of mechanical skill, process, facilities and capabilities in Relectrify
• Contribute to Relectrify’s intellectual property portfolio
• Follow risk mitigation procedures, and actively contribute to the safety of people, schedule and product development

Requirements

Applicants must have full working rights in Australia and be willing to undergo pre-employment background checks (i.e. working rights, criminal history, and employment references).

• Bachelor/Masters/PhD degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• 3+ years in mechanical design integrating electronics
• Application of first principles to solve unique problems and manage technical risk
• Skilled in 3D CAD
• DFM experience in plastics and sheet metal design
• Experience working in prototype development environment

• Experience in FMEA, JSA
• Design for manufacture, DFM
• Design for assembly, DFA
• Highly skilled in Solidworks or OnShape
