THE BUSINESS

Cruise Whitsundays is an award winning, innovative, and experienced maritime operator, based in Airlie Beach. Our experiences include day and overnight tours throughout the Whitsundays, as well as resort connection services. We are proud to offer Australia’s first underwater accommodation, Reefsuites, on The Great Barrier Reef and exclusive Reefsleep experience at Reefworld moored offshore at Hardy Reef, 40 nautical miles from Airlie Beach.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are currently seeking a motivated and proactive Operations Support Officer to join the team on a Full Time basis across Sunday to Thursday Reporting to the Operations Manager, actively support the Operations Support Officer Manning and Compliance, assisting with the delivery of daily manning compliance and Key People Strategies, including limited on call duties and designated contact for crewing enquires.

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding any payroll-related queries
  • Document Control and Monitoring
  • Asset Compliance Certificates and Support in Maintaining Records Employees Qualifications
  • Implementing New Systems and Software
  • Maintain ongoing liaison across all CWS departments to ensure compliance.
  • Foster network relationships between office and on water crew
  • High levels of marine safety and compliance.
  • Other operational related duties as required by the Operations Manager.

THE CANDIDATE

To ensure your success you will demonstrate advanced literacy in Microsoft Office Products, problem solving and adaptable thinking strategies with a persistent and resilient attitude. Personally, you maintain strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and outside of standard office hours.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have/be:

  • Advanced payroll program experience (Pay global preferred);
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Confident with the use of technology and communication devices;
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills;
  • Strong inter-personal skills and a natural team player;
  • Strong MS Office knowledge;
  • Problem solving and adaptable thinking strategies;
  • Experience in a similar administration role;
  • Ability to proactively build and maintain effective working relationships with on-water crew;
  • Marine tourism background (preferred)
  • Desirable - First Aid, CPR
