Our engineers carry out complex and highly technical projects throughout the product development chain of the most prestigious companies in sectors such as Automotive, Aerospace, Defence, Energy, Manufacturing,
Public Sector and Life Sciences. QR_ is currently expending its activity in Australia and we are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Melbourne team.
Requirements
• Complete structural systems design for naval ship systems
• Perform technical investigations, root cause analysis and solution identification
• Undertake Structural Engineering tasks such as first principle structural calculations and Finite Element Analysis
• Create Technical reports/documentation based as per client requirements
• Management of minor to moderate projects, with competing priorities
• Main areas of focus: o Hull structure (primary and secondary members, global and local assessments);
- Equipment foundations (major and minor); o
- Shock, noise and vibration.
Must haves:
Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Desirable: Naval Architecture / Structural / Aeronautical);
• 8+ years of experience in similar roles
• Proven skills and experience in a Structure and/or Naval Architecture function
• Ability to obtain Baseline Security Clearance • Proficiency in Computer Aided Design (CAD) packages
• Proficiency in FEA software packages
Nice to have:
• Experience in the Naval Defence industry
• Baseline Clearance • Proficiency in fundamental and complex structural analyses (static strength, stiffness, natural frequency, noise, vibration, shock, buckling, fatigue etc.)
• Proficiency in analysing bolted and welded connections
• Proficiency in Finite Element Modelling and Analysis, particularly ANSYS
• Proficiency in Whole of Ship assessments, particularly longitudinal strength
• Experience using SpaceClaim and MicroStation CAD packages
• Experience in ANSYS software package
