At Entain Australia amp; New Zealand as a Backend Software Engineer, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to building innovative and world-class features that enhance the user experience across all of our wagering and entertainment platforms.
Focusing on product features; you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and implementing new functionalities that elevate our platforms. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you'll have the opportunity to contribute your technical expertise to shape user experiences and drive innovation in the online entertainment landscape.
Our Tech stack is primarily Golang, with a variety of different frameworks and languages that will always keep you learning and engaged!
Where and how you can work
This role can be based on the Eastern seaboard in either our Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne office. At Entain AUS amp; NZ, we value a flexible work environment and support a hybrid working model, allowing employees to spend two days a week at the office, ensuring work-life balance and individual preferences.
Your day-to-day
- Design and develop scalable and performant Golang-based backend systems to support new product features.
- Implementing and maintaining efficient, scalable, and robust code to ensure the smooth operation of our apps.
- Troubleshooting, debugging, and implementing long-term fixes to bugs.
- Writing and maintaining test coverage.
- Executing projects within timeframes and communicating well with all stakeholders.
What you'll bring...
- Proven experience with Go or comparable compiled, server-oriented programming languages with a focus on delivering product features. Previous experience with Go is highly desirable, however, not essential.
- Experience with the utilization of JavaScript build/test tools such as NPM, Webpack, Babel, and Jest.
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficient background in working with traditional relational databases, including MySQL, MSSQL, Postgres, and others.
- Passion for sports and a keen interest in the sports betting industry.
