We are seeking an experienced SeniorCloud Engineer to join our IT team and contribute to the creation of efficient and scalable cloud solutions for Pepperstone. As a senior member of our IT team, you will have the opportunity to provide technical guidance, mentorship, and expertise to our engineers, while also driving the adoption of best practices in cloud engineering.

Your role in this exciting opportunity, working alongside the Cloud Engineering Team, is to help shape the design, development, and upkeep of cutting-edge cloud-based production systems and services.

We value open communication and teamwork, and your contributions will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our cloud infrastructure.

Your day-day responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Effectively deliver on requirements, ensuring that we achieve the agreed outcomes within the designated timeframes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain cloud solutions that are resilient, scalable, and secure.
  • Contribute to the design and management of cloud infrastructures by using CI/CD pipelines and automation.
  • Advocate for and implement best practices in DevOps and Continuous Delivery, including automated testing (BDD, TDD), build and deployment pipelines, and observability.
  • Create automation strategies for monitoring and optimizing cloud solutions' performance.
  • Develop and maintain data security processes to ensure the security of networks, data stores, and applications.
  • Provide technical guidance and assist other engineers and teams across the organization in solving technical problems.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide training on best practices, cloud technologies, software architecture, and tools.
  • Act as a point of escalation during incidents, playing a key role in resolving issues and mitigating risks.

About You:

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a cloud, platform or devops role
  • Proven ability to manage and drive change in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal including the ability to present to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Extensive experience in designing and managing cloud architectures, applications, and services
  • Expertise in DevOps culture and CI/CD practices
  • In-depth knowledge of automation, orchestration, container and serverless technologies
  • Experience in incident and issue management
  • At least 1-2 years experience in a programming language (Javascript, Python, Golang)
  • Understanding of site reliability engineering, observability data types (logs, metrics and tracing) and experience with related tooling
  • Current and full working rights in Australia.
