Requirements

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, engaging relationship builder to join our South Melbourne based Sales team as an Account Manager on a permanent, full-time basis.

Reporting to our State Merchant Manager, you’ll be empowered to run your own territory (Southern Victoria amp; Gippsland) whilst being a key part of a wider dynamic and high performing team. You’ll have responsibility for managing the relationships with our key accounts and smaller independent customers embodying our GWA ‘customer first’ ethos.

Some of your key responsibilities will include identifying opportunities for developing and implementing sales strategies and initiatives. You’ll also develop and maintain external relationships with current and potential customers, plus internal relationships with key stakeholders across the GWA business. Naturally, we’ll expect you to achieve budgeted sales and margin targets, and you’ll also manage defined pricing guidelines.

There will be plenty of opportunity for you to utilise and develop your account management skills by:

  • Providing technical information both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrating new products and emphasising saleable features and benefits.
  • Analysing sales statistics to formulate strategies and assist in sales growth.
  • Carrying out merchant sales plans to achieve various targets.
  • Ensuring merchants have current displays and are adequately stocked with current Point of Sale information, price information and collateral.
  • Maintaining day-to-day, face-to-face contact with customer base through daily, weekly call cycle and monthly reporting.
  • Representing GWA at relevant merchant and trade functions.

About you

A natural relationship builder, our successful candidate will:

  • Have at least 2 years in a similar role with strong, relevant industry experience and product knowledge.
  • Have developed and maintained strong relationships within the industry.
  • Have a background as experienced brand champion.
  • Be motivated by challenge and want to work as part of an engaged and energetic team.
  • Have an analytical mindset, with strong MS Excel skills and clear and logical report writing skills.
  • Be driven and positive in their outlook, with the desire to own and run their own territory.
