About The RoleThis exciting role is part of a completely new team within the organization. You will be part of a global team that is challenging the status quo of property settlement experience in many countries.
Ideally, you are studying for a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar and are in your final year of university in 2024 expecting to graduate in 2024. You have learned to code on your own and have personal projects to showcase.
As a Junior Cloud engineer, you will work closely with your team of engineers, pairing across time zones writing and reviewing code.

What you’ll be doing
- You will be building and maintaining our world-class cloud infrastructure, with key objectives in the areas of automation, availability, scalability, and security management.
- You will work with our team in driving forward the operability of the platform.
- Collaborate with key PEXA Technology partners, and product and development teams.
- Ensure the systems have observability built into their DNA to enable monitoring and alerting across the board.
- Build out an AIOps system to enable self-healing and recoverability.
- Actively participate in agile ceremonies based on SCRUM or Kanban
- Security aware approach all engineering work with a security lens. Actively look for security vulnerabilities both in the code and when providing peer reviews
- Deliver praise and constructive feedback to your team, teammates and manager in a useful manner. Deliver feedback to business stakeholders when opportunities arise
- Work with team members openly and respectfully. Seek out mentoring opportunities specifically to create team redundancy and backfill ability

What you’ll bring to the table
- Scripting technologies Bash and Python
- Networking
- Security
- Git
- Experience in Linux, Docker, Terraform and AWS is considered highly advantageous
- Demonstrated a basic understanding of software development principles
- Experience in CI/CD pipelines
- Experience in integrations with third-party APIs
- Experience with observability systems and service performance
- Exposure to distributed storage and database systems (e.g. SQL, NoSQL)
- Exposure to event-driven systems such as Kafka
- Ability to problem-solve
