Job Description
The role
We’re looking for a Product Excellence Engineer Manager to join our Product Excellence team based at Prestons team on a permanent, full-time basis.
Reporting to the Head of Product Excellence, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the development, testing, and evaluation stages of New Product Developments and Innovation projects. Your responsibilities span from the concept to the commercialisation of projects, along with contributing to ongoing projects to ensure their efficient delivery. In addition, the role will focus on maintaining the technical specifications and the ongoing design and performance of products during production. The role will involve designing across a wide range of areas requiring expertise with plastics, metal, ceramic and electronics development.
About you
With 10 years’ hands-on experience working in all phases of product development, this role requires expertise in the following:
- Concept creation through to production of high-quality, mass-produced consumer and/or commercial products, including electronic products.
- Injection moulding, metal fabrication, casting, and machining for high-volume manufacturing.
- Research and development, showcasing a broad understanding of disciplined product development processes, design, and regulatory and quality requirements.
- Proven leadership skills, influencing and directing project teams, fostering confidence, respect, and loyal cooperation.
- Advanced project management abilities, encompassing planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of Product Development systems and strategies.
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training or professional accreditation.
