We are seeking a Senior Software Developer (DevOps) to work within our product engineering team to deliver outstanding, world class product outcomes to our customers.

You have a consulting mindset, with a love for solving challenging technical problems, removing technology impediments and helping the product delivery team excel in delivering valuable and releasable software.

You would coach our teams and implement product and technology practices that ensure rigour in infrastructure provisioning and software deployment, that enable the rapid development and the ongoing management of new and existing digital products.

You are able to self-manage in a consulting environment, and mentor other team members to achieve successful outcomes. You have a history of leading technology teams on projects from small single-developer projects, up to large projects with multiple squads.

Joining as a Senior Developer (DevOps), you will:

• Develop high-quality infrastructure and software design and architecture, by studying the needs of the business and users, studying systems flow, data usage and work processes and investigate problem areas.
• Help your teams implement infrastructure and software deployment best practices, including but not limited to: CI/CD, feature flagging, blue green deployment, automated testing, and the use of Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Help scaffold applications from the ground up, teach others good coding practices, implement testing approaches and help build an environment with a strong focus on delivering value.
• Be value focused - understand how to collaboratively work towards building the most valuable part of any system, with the information available right now. Resist the urge to gold plate in favour of building validatable increments of code that deliver value.
• Coach and grow the capability of developers across our product delivery practice.
• Build a shared understanding of technical solutions with both technical and business stakeholders through various means, such as facilitating workshops, developing documentation, layouts, diagrams, code comments and clear code.
• Join a development team, hit the ground running, and enable healthy scrum processes.
• Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code.
• Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting.
• Lead and participate in practices that add to high quality software, such as reviewing pull requests, configuring linter rules, setting up automated testing and performing validation and verification testing.
• Lead in-house efforts that actively contribute to our culture, knowledge and organisational norms.

Requirements

• You have 4+ years of experience as a software developer.
• You are Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate
• You are Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert OR Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert (highly regarded)
• 2-5 years Azure Experience
• Strong skill set with Terraform
• We highly prefer that you have experience as a professional consultant working directly with client stakeholders.
• You have 1+ Years experience leading a project team of developers and representing the team to client stakeholders (such as a delivery lead or scrum master).
• You have experience in implementing at least three or more of the following practices:
  • Continuous Integration amp; Deployment (CI/CD) for development and production;
  • Feature Flagging;
  • Blue/Green Deployment;
  • Automated Testing amp; TDD; and/or
  • Repeatable and consistent provisioning of cloud based infrastructure through Infrastructure-as-Code (such as with Terraform, and AWS CloudFormation).
• You have experience in establishing infrastructure and software architectures.
• You have experience communicating and managing expectations with technical and business stakeholders at every stage of the project.
• You have experience in containerisation for the purposes of creating virtual dev environments and in production deployment.
