THE LOCAL BUSINESS
Cruise Whitsundays is an award winning, innovative, and experienced maritime operator, based in Airlie Beach. Our experiences include day and overnight tours throughout the Whitsundays, as well as resort connection services. We are proud to offer Australia’s first underwater accommodation, Reefsuites, on The Great Barrier Reef and exclusive Reefsleep experience at Reefworld moored offshore at Hardy Reef, 40 nautical miles from Airlie Beach.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We have a unique opportunity available to join our Ground Crew team on a casual basis. This position will require you to work at both the Port of Airlie Terminal and Hamilton Island (ferry transportation included to amp; from Shute Harbour).
Your days could see you doing;
- Greeting guests and making them feel welcome from the moment they arrive;
- Managing the movement of luggage and freight;
- Maintaining accurate Inventory through receiving and counting freight;
- Assisting the vessel crew in loading and unloading of freight, luggage and guests;
- Assisting reservations team with enquiries, check ins and issuing tickets;
- Maintaining clear communication with fleet and Port of Airlie via radio;
- Ensure guest safety and satisfaction;
- Adhering to operational procedures and WHS requirements;
- Maintaining housekeeping and cleanliness in assigned work area;
- All activities performed to a timely schedule.
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will be passionate and proud of the service that they deliver and be willing to go above and beyond for our guests, motivated to create ongoing memorable and unique guest experiences. You will be a team player with a demonstrated positive "can-do" attitude, have previous experience in a similar role and ability to deliver professional service. This role would ideally suit a motivated individual who is keen to grow with the company.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-years' experience in a similar customer service role, with previous Porter/Reservations experience advantageous;
- Must hold a valid manual drivers license;
- First Aid qualifications and experience in warehouse amp; procurement highly advantageous;
- Reliable, self-motivated and proactive with an adaptable nature;
- Ability to work efficiently and proactively in an autonomous environment;
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office and general administrative tasks;
- Confident with the use of technology and communication devices;
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills;
- Ability to multi task competing priorities;
- Great attention to detail with strong problem solving skills;
- Excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills;
- Able to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays.
