The RoleMegaport is looking for an energetic, independent, self managing Software QA Engineer to create and run manual and automated testing on the in-house developed software systems. There are many active software projects ongoing, so this is a great opportunity to get involved at the requirements gathering stage to ensure high quality delivery from the very start.
We are looking for someone who leaps out of bed and says give me your REST API, and I shall break it, so you can make it better; someone who doesn’t stop at making sure the UI is functional, but also that it is usable, performant and accessible. The right person will champion automation, not just automate all the things, but considerate and thoughtful automation.What you’ll be doing
- Maintain and improve the quality of the systems being deployed.
- Understand requirements, specifications, and how Megaport products work in general as the basis for formulating effective automated and manual tests.
- in general as the basis for formulating effective automated and manual testsWork with the QA team and wider software engineering team to drive the QA strategy forward, with a particular focus on the improvement of our automation frameworks.
- Create and maintain comprehensive and effective test cases.
- Participate in the the software release process with a focus on satisfying automated and manual testing.
- Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.
- Be constantly learning, looking for process improvements and continually applying them to drive efficacy and efficiency within the organisation.
What we are looking for
- 3+ years experience in software quality assurance, especially web applications and APIs.
- Deep experience with applying QA within agile delivery.
- Strong experience and skills in developing and implementing test automation, QA tooling and frameworks.
- Comprehensive experience with QA tools such as API testing tools (Postman, RestAssured, Katalon, etc.), UI testing tools (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, etc.), and Test Case Management software (TestRail, X-ray, etc.).
- Productive in one or two scripting languages and/or testing tools.
- Experience with Java, JIRA, Confluence, Git, Continuous integration tools.
- An ability to reason logically, question appropriately and present technical information clearly and concisely.
- Demonstrated technical capability (such as reading code, exploring a relational database).
- A fast-learner with self-drive, initiative and inquisitiveness. A real self-starter that can pick up a task or project and drive it relentlessly to completion.
- An agile mindset with the ability to work in a transparent and collaborative manner.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Knowledge of Telco and/or networking industry products and processes will be well regarded; but not essential.
