THE LOCAL BUSINESS

Cruise Whitsundays is an award winning, innovative, and experienced maritime operator, based in Airlie Beach. Our experiences include day and overnight tours throughout the Whitsundays, as well as resort connection services. We are proud to offer Australia’s first underwater accommodation, Reefsuites, on The Great Barrier Reef and exclusive Reefsleep experience at Reefworld moored offshore at Hardy Reef, 40 nautical miles from Airlie Beach.


THE OPPORTUNITY

We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Hospitality amp; Housekeeping superstar to join the team as a Reefsleep Host in a permanent full timecapacity. Based at Reefworld, our permanently moored Pontoon located on the Outer Great Barrier Reef, 39 nautical miles off shore. This position sees you working a lifestyle roster of 8 days on and 6 days off. During your days on you will be required to work away from home, shared accommodation and meals provided whilst on-duty at the Reefworld Pontoon.

Our Reefsleep Hosts are an integral component of the one-of-a-kind overnight Reefstay experience on the Great Barrier Reef. Your primary goal is to create amazing experiences for our Reefsleep and Reefsuite guests.

What will you be doing?

Your primary job is ensure each and every guest has an experience of a lifetime. Together you will share special places and create lasting memories. Your days might include:

  • Concierge service, hosting guests during their Reefworld experience including luggage handling
  • Housekeeping of Reefbeds and Reefsuites
  • Ensure Reefworld is in a clean, tidy and presentable condition for all day and overnight guests
  • Adherence to daily schedule, operational procedures and WHS requirements
  • Barista and fine dining food amp; beverage services
  • Assistance in making special occasions and events as special as possible
  • Contribute to a positive team culture working collaboratively in a small environment

About You

As the ideal candidate you are passionate and proud of the food and service that you deliver and are willing to go above and beyond for guests, creating ongoing memorable and unique guest experiences. Who you are is important to us we want you to be yourself, genuine, personable and be able to demonstrate your hospitality skills to the highest standards.

To be successful in this role, you will have/be:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the hospitality amp; tourism industry
  • Hands on experience as a Barista utilising a commercial coffee machine
  • Experience in fine dining and housekeeping (highly desirable)
  • Experience in guest accommodation or rooms division management (highly desirable)
  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills with excellent relationship management
  • Creative problem solver with strong adaptability
  • Reliable, self-motivated and proactive
  • High attention to detail and high standard of delivery
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a small team environment

Requirements

  • QLD Responsible Service of Alcohol;
  • QLD Working with Children's Check (Blue Card);
  • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid;
  • HLTAID015 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Apply Basic Oxygen;
  • Elements of Shipboard Safety Certificate (or willing to obtain).
