About your new role
The Lived Experience Communications Officer is a new role in Neami’s Engagement team. We are seeking a collaborative, curious and driven communications professional who will be responsible for developing and implementing communications plans and activities across the organisation.
For this role, we are seeking an individual with a lived experience of mental health challenges and recovery, who will collaborate with the broader Engagement team and organisation to deliver effective communications projects. The Lived Experience Communications Officer will provide a key perspective in supporting work to include lived experience voices and perspectives in our communications activities.
As this is a designated Lived Experience Communications Officer role, you must have your own Lived Experience of mental health challenges and a rich understanding of how to use this knowledge to help others. You must be willing to apply personal lived experience learnings purposefully and have a broad understanding of the consumer movement to support the development of engaging communications strategies and materials.

What you will bring to the role
• A tertiary qualification in communications, digital communications, public relations, marketing (or related discipline) and/or relevant experience in a communications environment.
• A lived experience of mental health challenges and a willingness to share and use lived expertise purposefully in the role
• Experience in implementing effective communication and engagement strategies.
• Strong writing and editing skills across print and online channels, with the ability to adapt writing style, tone and voice for different audiences with exceptional attention to detail.
• Demonstrated experience in planning and coordinating activities across a broad range of communications channels.
