Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Financial Accountant will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information and management reports to key stakeholders to support managerial planning and commercial decision-making whilst ensuring a continuous improvement approach financial processes and systems.
Requirements
The role responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Accurate processing of month-end journal entries that underpin the financial performance of the business.
- Prepare monthly management accounts with high quality analysis and insights, including distribution to non-finance stakeholders.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigate reconciling items, and propose corrective actions.
- Responsibility for the management of fixed assets, including the procurement and allocation of technical hardware in the fixed asset registers.
- Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting practices and support statutory financial reporting compliance requirements, including audit requests.
- Continuously improve the FMH financial system capability and implement process improvements and initiatives to enable efficiencies.
- Support the wider team with ad hoc projects and tasks.
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Accounting and Finance roles - familiarity within a consulting or professional services firm advantageous.
- Finance/Accounting qualification and CA/CPA qualified.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Exposure to Business Intelligence systems and experienced in using BI tools in reporting, reconciliation, and accounting process improvement.
- Highly articulate and numerate with a strong attention to detail.
