We're looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join our Perth based Finance team at Vix in this 15 month contract position.
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will be responsible for supporting the financial reporting, budgeting/forecasting, treasury, and tax reporting functions of our group entities. Your expertise and commercial acumen will be essential in partnering with stakeholders in Vix technology to provide support and guidance regarding cost and revenue analysis.

What You'll Be Doing:


Financial Reporting

  • Prepare and consolidate financial statements for the group, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results to senior management, shareholders, and external stakeholders
  • Monitor and analyse financial performance, highlighting trends, and presenting findings to key stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and group accounting policies


Consolidation

  • Oversee the consolidation process of financial results from subsidiary entities with numerous currencies into the group's financial statements.
  • Review intercompany transactions and eliminate any intercompany balances or transactions to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Coordinate with subsidiary accountants and finance teams to gather financial information and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Review the monthly reporting packs to ensure the key accounts are reconciled


Financial Controls and Compliance

  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls and procedures to safeguard financial assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct periodic internal audits to assess the effectiveness of financial controls and identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist in the implementation and adherence to corporate governance practices across the group.

Financial Analysis and Insights

  • Perform financial analysis, variance analysis, and financial modelling to support decision-making processes.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to drive business performance and optimize resource allocation.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes at the group level.

Relationship Management

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance teams at subsidiary entities, senior management, and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and address any accounting-related issues.
  • Liaise with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and other relevant parties during audits and financial reporting processes.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, accounting standards, and regulatory changes affecting the group's financial reporting.


Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA or ACCA are highly desirable.
  • Proven experience as Group finance or similar role, preferably in a group with multinational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, FX and financial reporting regulations (e.g., IFRS).
  • Proficient in financial analysis, consolidation, and financial modeling techniques.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial accounting software and MS Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders at various levels.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
