Role Description
The Lead Backend Engineer will be at the helm of backend development, ensuring the robustness, efficiency, and scalability of Perion's platform. Reporting directly to the CTO, this role will be pivotal in shaping the technical direction of our backend systems, collaborating closely with the product and design teams to bring innovative features to life. The Lead Backend Engineer will be responsible for the entire backend development lifecycle, from design to deployment, ensuring the platform's stability, security, and performance.
Role responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of backend systems using Node.js.
- Ensure the creation and maintenance of RESTful APIs to support frontend and mobile applications.
- Design and implement cloud-based solutions, ensuring scalability and reliability.
- Collaborate with the CTO and other technical leads to define and implement architectural strategies.
- Uphold coding standards, best practices, and quality guidelines, driving continuous improvement in backend development processes.
- Work closely with the product and design teams to understand functional and business requirements.
- Play a key role in the design and development of new platform features.
- Ensure timely modifications and additions to the backend platform, including APIs, services, data schemas, and more.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve backend issues and bugs.
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and professional development opportunities to junior backend engineers.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous learning within the backend team.
- Collaborate with the CTO in designing and implementing infrastructure solutions.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines, ensuring smooth deployments and updates.
- Implement monitoring, metrics, and analytics tools to ensure platform health and performance.
Your skills and experience
- Proficiency in Node.js and experience with RESTful APIs.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture, preferably with hands-on experience.
- Extensive experience in developing server-side cloud applications within a microservices architecture.
- A genuine passion for video gaming and the gaming industry, as well as the crypto industry
- Experience with Nest.js, GraphQL, and Kubernetes is a plus.
- Proven track record of managing junior engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
