For 50 years Melba Support Services has provided people with disabilities truly individualised services that create more choice and greater control. We are a human rights organisation, we place the people who we support at the centre of everything we do.

The Position

Your options to work with us on are:

  • Day Placement Group and Individual Activities
  • Individualised Support Arrangements day, afternoon, and weekend shifts
  • Accommodation, both Group and Individual Living Arrangements

We are a professional organization that believes in consistency of service and fostering mutually rewarding relationships. You will work with our existing teams of Support Workers providing flexible and innovative support services to people living with disability.

Along with us you will support people 24 hours a day, every day of the year, including mornings, evenings, weekdays, weekends, sleep overs and active nights. Our day programs and activities are focused on the achievement of individual goals and aspirations.

Melba Support Services complies with the National Disability Insurance Scheme Worker Screening Check (NDIS Check)

Our Ideal Candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • A genuine desire to take a deep interest in people’s lives and their personal outcomes
  • A commitment to supporting people as individuals
  • A commitment to encouraging and facilitating people to have choice and control
  • Experience in working effectively with people who have complex communication needs (desired by not mandatory)
  • Experience in supporting people with a disability
  • An understanding of Positive Behaviour Support and person-centred practice
  • An understanding of Autism and other complex presentations
  • A track record of effectively working within a dynamic team environment

To be considered for this position you must provide evidence of the following:

  • Prior experience in a disability support role will be highly regarded but not mandatory for the right candidate
  • Current First Aid amp; CPR certification
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance or readiness to apply for clearance
  • Working with Children Check or readiness to apply for approval
  • Your right to work in Australia
  • A roadworthy and insured vehicle for use for work purposes
  • Mobile device with internet connectivity and a web browser for work related purposes
  • Capacity to wear Personal Protective Equipment including a mask, eye protection and gloves at certain times when directed
  • Availability to work a minimum of 2 shifts per week
  • Proof of Covid-19 Vaccinations
