Goterra is a resource recycling technology company, with a difference.

We’re creating the future of recycling utilities with modular, deployable resource management infrastructure that empower a circular economy.

Our technology is changing everything about how we manage our waste resources, without disrupting anything. To do this we need leaders and innovators from science, engineering, agriculture and operations.

We are looking for an experienced and skilled people leader, who loves working on challenging problems that encompass multiple technical disciplines. You love diving into and solving human resource challenges and working with a wide selection of different skilled professionals

You’ll guide a multidisciplinary senior leadership team by leveraging your experience, skill in aligning amp; motivating team members, and ability to work with stakeholders across the organisation. You'll be responsible for hiring, retaining, growing and leading world-class scientists and engineers and trades people

Your immediate focus will be to prepare our People and Culture department for the next evolution of growth. We’re about to be 10 sites in 5 states, up from 3 sites in 2 states in August last year . You don’t need to have the answers but need to love learning, connecting the dots and empowering the diverse team around you.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

People and Culture:

  • Developing the HR agenda.
  • Developing HR strategies, policies, and practices.
  • Improving and monitoring employee productivity.
  • Structuring compensation and benefit packages.
  • Managing staff wellness initiatives.
  • Employee engagement and retention initiatives.
  • Evaluating staffing needs.
  • Overseeing recruitment efforts.
  • Managing and allocating HR funds.
  • Engaging with heads of department

Requirements

  • Nurture and Lead: As a people leader, you'll be responsible for the growth and cohesion of our team. You'll ensure they feel connected to the broader organization and are all clear on the most important goal(s) they need to solve.
  • Clarify ambiguities: Taking high-level, sometimes ambiguous goals, and breaking them down into actionable steps. You’ll support our management team by challenging these goals and defining the questions that need answers.
  • Execute and support: You’ll be right there with your team, supporting them in overcoming challenges and ensuring we’re always moving forward. You will know when to lean in to support or when to let your team flourish.
  • Discover and Address: Have significant autonomy to identify and work on the most valuable problems you see.
  • Connect the dots: Learn about biology, hardware, design, from our multidisciplinary team and leverage these balanced perspectives in your work.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALITIES REQUIRED:

  • Proven working experience in a people and culture/human resources lead role
  • Proven employee engagement experience and skills
  • In-depth knowledge of the Fair Work Act 2009, current industrial legislation and award interpretation, and human resources best practises
  • Experience with human resources metrics
  • Experience with full-cycle recruiting
  • Demonstrable leadership qualities and abilities
  • People oriented and results driven
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
  • Experience with Human Resources Management Systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)


ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Appropriate Human Resource academic qualifications, preferably at Bachelor level, or equivalent extensive experience
  • Membership of the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI) (preferred)
