Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.
Hey, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora,, hallo, vítejte!
Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work
Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home or a bit of both, it's up to you.

What you’d be doing in this role
As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.
Advocacy and enablement: You'll partner with Product Designers and Frontend Engineers across product groups as a subject matter expert to enhance the education of accessibility considerations across product teams and experiences. You'll identify, specify and prioritise accessibility requirements and help define scalable, reusable guidance through visual and written documentation across Canva's suite of products, enabling teams to ship quickly and consistently.?
Planning and delivery: In collaboration with the team leads, you'll guide prioritisation and decision-making on the health and evolution of accessibility across Canva, collaborating with Product and Engineering leads to identify and prioritise requirements for upcoming company priorities and establishing a clear path forward for future work.?
Strategy and vision: Representing design through widespread accessibility changes, you'll work closely with a Product Manager and Engineering Lead to define and articulate the accessibility strategy and vision to key stakeholders and the broader team.?
Discover and define: You'll actively explore new and existing components and patterns with accessibility enhancements to contribute to the foundational core of our Design System.?
Supporting consumers: You'll partner with Product Designers and Frontend Engineers to answer and guide ad hoc questions and queries, enabling product teams to deliver world-class user interfaces that are usable, useful, and desirable for all of our users while ensuring our products align with our Design System.?
Maintain tooling: Helping to scale the Figma design library through new technological advancements, third-party integrations, optimisation, and general maintenance and support of the Easel Design Kit that support accessibility requirements.?
Measuring success: Measuring the success and impact of Easel initiatives includes collecting, analysing, and reporting data to provide meaningful insights to the business.
The skills and experience that we are looking for
  • An accessible systems mindset: With a deep, nuanced appreciation and understanding of different disability models, accessibility needs, universal design, and accessibility-related standards, you'll help build a world-class product and design system through accessibility considerations in service of the Canva platform, enhancing the user experience and business value. Improve designer and developer efficiency by folding accessibility considerations into new and existing ideas.
  • Design thinking, research and data analysis: Demonstrable experience in design thinking methodologies that help understand the problem and drive stakeholder discussions, ideation and alignment. Leveraging user research processes that help understand user and business needs while supporting design decisions by measuring outcomes.
  • Collaboration and communication: Cross-team and cross-functional collaboration, discussion and change management are vital functions of this role. Giving and receiving constructive feedback, supporting incoming queries about accessibility, and pairing with individuals and teams to achieve necessary changes.
  • Creating a shared understanding: You're able to articulate, draft and publish clear guidance, which assists consumers of Easel, in making informed decisions while being able to understand and speak Frontend when working with engineers. Share knowledge of the design system through articles, documentation and presentations.
  • Designing for accessible standards: Experience interpreting and designing for detailed specifications (WCAG 2.1 AA) with a genuine interest and commitment to creating an accessible experience for all current and future users. Consideration and thoughtfulness across the realm of digital platforms and accessibility requirements to deliver product enhancements and improve existi
