Unity Fund Services (UFS) is the Fund Administration subsidiary of OIG. UFS provides a comprehensive range of fund administration, accounting and taxation services to fund managers.


THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Senior Manager/Associate Director, the Senior Fund Accountant/Assistant Manager at UFS will take ownership of a portfolio of new and existing wholesale and or retail investment funds. In partnership with the wider team, they will ensure the execution, review and delivery of key fund accounting activities, whilst ensuring compliance and client expectations are fulfilled consistently and without error.


This is a fast paced, client focused role and day-to-day, you can expect to complete the below tasks:


Assistant Manager

  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients and key stakeholders within the group to ensure all aspects of fund administration are delivered in a compliant, accurate and efficient manner.
  • Manage a small team of Fund Accountants ensuring the are trained and motivated to deliver excellent client service and support to achieve their career goals.
  • Oversee new fund onboarding processes through to go live, understanding fund structures, resource planning, identifying knowledge gaps and documenting and agreeing reporting timetables for fund deliverables with your clients.
  • Review and approve the release of all fund deliverables to a high and accurate standard, ensuring all procedures and processes are adhered to. Deliverables include but are not limited to periodic NAV’s or Unit Prices of your allocated Funds; year end or half year financial statements in line with accounting standards; distributions to investors, BAS reporting and other ad-hoc regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Overseeing team compliance and risk management, and implementing/educating the team on new regulatory changes


Senior Fund Accountant

  • Manage key stakeholder relationships, expectations and timelines, whilst ensuring client deliverables are executed in an accurate, compliant and efficient manner.
  • Ensure clients meet regulatory obligations in fund administration and tax compliance.
  • Prepare or review NAV reporting packs and complete unit pricing for your allocated portfolio of funds for the Assistant Manager to sign off for release.
  • Prepare and review other fund administration reporting obligation for your portfolio of funds including BAS submissions , distribution calculations and withholding tax calculations (including relevant checklists and lodgements) for the Assistant Manager to sign off on.
  • Lead the client relationship to agree and deliver year end and half year processes (annual and half yearly financial reporting, audit support, tax reporting and other ad-hoc regulatory reporting obligations).
  • Ensure adherence to risk and compliance outing standards, participating in breach and compliance reporting, and support the implementation of regulatory changes.
  • Senior Accountants will support the Assistant Manager in providing training and support to new team members.


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • 3-5 years of experience in a related role within the financial or professional services industry.
  • Completed an undergraduate degree (Commerce, Business or similar) from an accredited university.
  • Completing or qualified in CPA or CA.
  • Advanced Excel and proficient in Word/PowerPoint.
  • Proven experience with unit trusts with experience in real estate, private equity and private debt asset classes an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client relationship skills.
  • Ability to complete project work both autonomously and in a team.
