Job Description

Traverse Alpine Group, a leading hospitality operator in remote areas, is seeking a highly motivated Sous Chef to join their team. As a Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to manage the daily kitchen operations, ensuring the highest level of quality and service. The successful candidate will have a passion for food, proven experience in a similar role, and be able to manage a team of kitchen staff in a high-pressure environment. Traverse Alpine Group is committed to providing excellence in hospitality, with a focus on designing and delivering exceptional Famp;B offerings in fabulously refurbished venues that appeal to skiers and non-skiers alike in Falls Creek, Bright and the Albury/Wodonga region.


Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef with menu planning, costing and procurement of supplies
  • Manage and supervise the kitchen staff to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen operations
  • Oversee the food preparation and cooking process to maintain the highest quality and presentation of dishes
  • Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are implemented and maintained
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement practices to increase kitchen productivity and efficiency
  • Support the Head Chef in maintaining good relationships with suppliers, restaurant staff, and patrons
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, new ingredients and cooking techniques, and make recommendations for the menu.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role as a Sous Chef
  • A relevant qualification in Culinary arts or equivalent
  • Exceptional knowledge of the food, its preparation, presentation and taste
  • Strong planning, organizational skills and a flair for creativity and innovation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Excellent communication, leadership and management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • A passion for quality Famp;B and a dedication to delivering exceptional customer service.
