About the Opportunity
Based in either Melbourne or Sydney, this role is focused on our Attractions and Dining portfolio. Reporting to the Executive General Manager, this varied role is responsible for growing local sales and revenue, coupled with marketing strategy execution, for Melbourne Skydeck, Eureka 89, Darwin Harbour Cruises and Cruise Sydney.
Working closely with the broader group Journey Beyond Sales and Marketing teams, you will support the development of sales and marketing strategies for each business. Leading a small team of local sales and marketing executives, you will drive sales activities across all channels and execute marketing strategies to grow demand and product awareness, increase visitation and exceed revenue targets.
Some key responsibilities include:
- Growing revenue across all sales channels including direct sales, local agents, new business and groups to meet and exceed sales KPIs;
- Building reporting capability and enhancing use of data to improve understanding of sales channels, customer journey and drive performance-based sales;
- Strengthening partnerships with corporate clients and local agents including concierge, visitor information centres and other tourism industry stakeholders;
- Work collaboratively with the in-house design team to ensure campaign creative and all branded collateral is created and executed in adherence to brand guidelines;
- Identify new revenue streams from the local markets and hosting PR events, activations and media famils where required;
- Delivery of marketing and advertising campaigns across all channels within budget;
- Supporting planning and content management for the portfolio’s social channels.
What’s exciting about this role is that you’ll have autonomy to lead your portfolio’s sales and marketing activities (with the support of a team that you’ll be hands on in building!), with the leverage of Group expertise, budgets, and technology. You’ll enjoy working across multiple products ranging from fine dining and events, to executively refurbished tourist attractions, to a newly launched luxury cruise and private charter vessel.
Capability Profile
- Experience across both sales and marketing, including growing revenue across a range of sales channels and executing marketing campaigns (exposure to tourism, hospitality, hotels, events or other service-related industries is highly advantageous)
- Experience leading a team, along with a collaborative style to successfully work within a national matrix reporting environment
- Demonstrated proficiency in understanding, analysing and reporting on data to drive performance-based decision making
- Strong financial acumen with demonstrated experience managing budgets
- Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Experience with CMS, CRM, social media, and content management platforms
- Ability and willingness to travel
- Tertiary qualification in Sales, Marketing, Business or related disciplines is highly advantageous.
