Job Description

An exciting new opportunity exists for an experienced National Safety and Compliance Manager based out of our Melbourne sites in Dandenong South and Altona. efm Warehousing has more than 78,000m2 of safe, secure, and modern warehousing space at strategic locations throughout Australia so there will be a need to occasionally travel interstate to ensure alignment of safe workplace practices and operation of each site.

Requirements

  • Lead all monthly site safety consultation meetings, investigations of incidents and accidents and manage outcomes in partnership with Site Operations Managers and ensure that preventative safety controls are implemented in a timely and consultative manner.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of SWP’s, leading training and roll out.
  • Support Site Operation Managers to review and maintain SOP’s across all sites, ensuring compliance with required standards and identify and implement new safety initiatives where necessary.
  • Complete onsite risk assessments when required or when a new process is introduced
  • Review induction process, with ownership for the safety component, ensuring Site Managers are safely onboarding all staff.
  • Ensure our operations facilities are maintained to standards including the management of contractors where required review contractor and visitor induction.
  • Implement and maintain safety related reporting at a Site Manager level
  • Effectively manage all aspects of the Injury management process, alignment across all sites and RTW plans.
  • Manage and drive QMS compliance at a site level, working with FMH Group Safety team, National Compliance Manager and the relevant SOM’s to embed our policies and procedures.

Experience required:

  • Qualification in Safety Management or relevant field of study.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a Site Safety Management role.
  • Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety laws.
  • Extensive stakeholder management experience and proven ability to collaborate effectively with relevant teams.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate risk proactively.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
