Join us as our new Design Engineer (Mechanical/Structural).

We are looking for another member to join our Engineering Team: a working environment consisting of highly educated, skilled, positive, innovative, and enthusiastic employees.

You will join our Design Team to perform concept and detailed design of tools and structures for use offshore on our vessels and subsea by ROV's and divers. You will be a creative engineer, strong in CAD and stress analysis skills, who considers both the methods and limitation of the fabricator and the functionality and safety expected by the end-user.

This position enables you to work on complex and rewarding projects with blue chip clients in offshore and subsea industry whilst ensuring DOF Subsea engineering standards are observed for assigned tasks.

Requirements

  • A four-year Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Structural/Naval Architecture), that is recognised by Engineers Australia for Professional Membership;
  • Creative self-starter and problem solver.
  • Practical design mindset, demonstrable in an interview;
  • Confidence to create and discuss concept solutions to design challenges;
  • Excellent visualisation (CAD) and structural/stress analysis (FEA, frame modeller, 1st principles calculations etc) skills;
  • Awareness of steel fabrication methods;
  • Demonstrated excellence in English report writing in MS Word with the clear ability to tailor reporting to suit the intended audience;
  • A strong commitment to HSEQ;
  • Marine/maritime/subsea experience is not required. Fabrication background is highly valued;
