Melba Support Services are actively recruiting for Disability Support Workers to join our team on a permanent part time basis in Rosebud.
You will work alongside an engaged, committed, and expert team to ensure the people we support lead happy and fulfilling lives. Be part of a stable and supportive team that has a full time House Supervisor who works a mix of direct and administration shifts across a fortnight.
There are 5 supported people who run their home in their own way that fosters personal responsibility and pride. They enjoy support with accessing their local community, going shopping, visiting local cafes and walks in local parklands. Ideally suited to individuals who are familiar with and have practical principles of active support so that the people supported have good and meaningful days.

We are looking for individuals with a diverse range of experience including:
- People currently working in the sector or have experience caring for family members, friends or community members
- Young people looking to establish a rewarding and secure career
- People who are retired, stay-at-home parents, or been on a career break and looking to return to work
What You’ll do
- Implement support plans based on supported persons needs, preferences and interests
- Help with all aspects of daily living from getting up in the morning to going to bed at night
- Aid people to get to their chosen activities like social events, work and appointments
- Promote personal choice and control for the person
- Assist with personal care amp; hygiene and household duties like cleaning, cooking, and washing
- Administer medication
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous Experience working with individuals with mental health needs
- A passion for enabling and working with people
- Desire for meaningful work and comfortable providing people with daily living support
- Willingness to learn new skills, undertake ongoing training
- Willingness to work as part of a team
You will also bring with you or be willing to obtain*:
- NDIS Worker screening Check
- Working with Children Check
- Unrestricted Australian Driver’s License
- Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination status, including booster
- Current First Aid Certificate with CPR
You will be required to work a mix of morning, afternoon and sleepover shifts. The roster will be shared during the recruitment process.
