Veracross is a private-equity-backed leading SaaS EdTech company that has grown 4x in size in 3 years and has consistent industry-leading high retention rates. We serve front line educators with the only market-disrupting open API single record architecture in the gt;$5B EdTech market. To date we have configured and deployed our product at over 1,000 leading private K-12 schools in over 20 countries.

With this growth, we have acquired other like-minded organisations to expand our portfolio offering, including our most recent merge with Digistorm on the Gold Coast.

Founded in 2011, Digistorm develops software, apps, and websites for schools and were the first to create a school app in Australia! As a mid-size ed-tech business, they specialise in the education industry for K-12 schools and are expanding internationally.

Digistorm takes a collaborative approach to business, with all team members encouraged to share knowledge and learn from each other. Processes and techniques are continually improved, and everyone is encouraged to chip in with new ideas that can make improve the Digistorm culture and business.

The role

This is an exciting, newly created position supporting the Digistorm team and partnering with local leaders and people managers in Australia as well as and being the main HR point of contact on the ground for the team.

The role forms part of the Veracross Global HR team and will report to the HR Business Partner for International so will have the support, guidance and development opportunities of a global HR team. The role will also have a local executive champion ensuring on-the-ground access to resources and management support.

This is a great opportunity for someone with generalist HR experience across the entire employee lifecycle and would be ideal for someone who is looking to further their experience as a local HR expert whilst benefiting from and experiencing being part of larger growing global organisation.

What you’ll be doing

  • As Digistorm continues to grow, it will be important to review and improve the way work is carried out. This role offers the opportunity to get involved in a number of projects focused on this, including performance development, organisational design, HRIS management and policy development to name a few.
  • You will play an important role in supporting managers and members of the Digistorm Team in day-to-day people related activities such as performance, learning and development and coaching as well as more general administrative activities including contracts, payroll and benefits administration.
  • This position offers the opportunity to develop your people experience in a supportive and exciting environment as well as development towards a business partnering role in the longer term.

Responsibilities

  • Being the main point of contact for employee and manager queries and escalating these to the HRBP when necessary
  • Helping with the roll out of global systems and processes and making sure that local team members are supported in using them.
  • Support our efforts to think global, but act local, by helping us grow and maintain Digistorm’s unique local team culture.
  • Helping to position Digistorm as a preferred employer in the EdTech space
  • Supporting the Recruitment Manager and Hiring Managers with hiring activity
  • Being the local expert on HR best practice
  • Keeping employee data accurate and up to date
  • Ensure confidentiality of all records in compliance with internal policies
  • Support the implementation of local HR policies and procedures.
  • Helping with the administration of payroll and benefits
  • Assisting with global HR reporting

Requirements

  • Generalist HR experience supporting leaders in a fast-paced, high growth, dynamic business environment; tech industry experience highly desired
  • Possesses up to date knowledge of Australian employment law, HR best practice and latest trends in employment
  • Human Resource Management Diploma or Bachelor level qualification preferred
  • Experience with HRIS, applicant tracking and payroll systems (BambooHR, ADP, and Workable are a plus)
  • Detail focused with excellent organisational skills
  • Approachable and professional with the ability to build trust quickly
  • Can maintain high levels of confidentiality.
  • Has excellent communication, written and numerical skills.
