The Opportunity
The Senior Digital Designer is responsible for the best practice design and development of visual assets to support and enhance student learning. This includes the development of batch and bespoke infographics, interactive storyboards, and graphic assets for video and animation. The Senior Digital Designer oversees the design output of Midweight and Junior Digital Designers, provides high-level design advice to key stakeholders and plays a critical role in developing and strengthening our brand styles.
The key contribution of the Senior Digital Designer is to act as the creative lead of the Learning Design team and strengthen OES’ design capability. Specifically, this role is responsible for:
- Producing and overseeing the production of student-facing digital design assets, including decorative and informative graphics, interactive UI design and animation packages to enhance or extend OES learning products.
- Collaborating with Learning Designers to identify and explore opportunities for the development of new design assets, promoting active and interactive learning.
- Engaging with internal and stakeholders, while demonstrating an awareness of industry standards and emerging digital design trends.
- Assisting with the management of a large, agile digital design workflow prioritising, delegating and problem-solving to ensure timely delivery of outcomes.
- Developing and maintaining design templates, guidelines and training materials to aid in the creation of images and interactives, with a view to promoting rapid deployment of reusable assets.
- Mentoring Mid-weight and Junior Digital Designers to ensure ongoing growth and development, and to champion best practice in our production environment.
About you
- Experience designing, managing and producing high-volume digital design solutions for web-based environments (experience in online education would be highly regarded).
- Experience conceptualising, storyboarding, prototyping and designing interactive experiences, working alongside Web Application Developers, ideally in an agile/short-burst project design environment.
- Experience in commercial, industry or educational environments, with advanced skills in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign and Adobe XD (experience with Rise or Articulate would be highly regarded).
- Demonstrated experience in innovative design methods and tools for online content delivery.
- Demonstrated high standard of interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- An appropriate post graduate qualification in multimedia/graphic design.
- Confidence to mentor, motivate and inspire the team to strengthen our brand and communicate the visual standards expected of OES products.
