Job Description

  • Mondays Fridays, (days are flexible for the right person).

Melba Support Services are actively recruiting for a Disability Support Worker to join us on a casual to permanent basis in Drouin to provide regular support for a lady to access her community.

You will work alongside an engaged, committed, and expert team to ensure the people we support lead happy and fulfilling lives.

What You’ll do

  • Provide support to connect to the individual with her new community through social activities at local centers such as cooking, art and craft and other lifestyle courses etc..
  • Provide support to the individual to develop confidence and new friendship connections.
  • Implement support plans based on supported persons needs, preferences and interests
  • Help with all aspects of daily living from getting up in the morning to going to bed at night
  • Aid people to get to their chosen activities like social events, work and appointments
  • Promote personal choice and control for the person.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A passion for enabling and working with people
  • Desire for meaningful work and comfortable providing people with daily living support
  • Willingness to learn new skills, undertake ongoing training
  • Willingness to work as part of a team

You will also bring with you or be willing to obtain*:

  • NDIS Worker screening Check
  • Working with Children Check
  • Unrestricted Australian Driver’s License and will need their own car for local travel
  • Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination status, including booster
  • Current First Aid Certificate with CPR
  • Availability of up to 18 hours per week

*We can support you through the process of obtaining these if you don’t already have them.
