Cruise Whitsundays is an award winning, innovative, and experienced maritime operator, based in Airlie Beach. Our experiences include day and overnight tours throughout the Whitsundays and the Great Barrier Reef, as well as resort connection services. We are proud to offer Australia’s first underwater accommodation, Reefsuites, on The Great Barrier Reef and exclusive Reefsleep experience at Reefworld on Hardy Reef.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We have a unique opportunity for a passionate and motivated Tour Guide to join the Cruise Whitsundays team on a full-time permanent basis. You will have the rewarding responsibility of creating an unforgettable experience for our guests, through exceptional customer service and a willingness to go above and beyond to shape lasting memories at one of the world’s most pristine beaches in the world, Whitehaven Beach!
Key Responsibilities
- Greeting and assisting guests ensuring the guests experience and safety is priority;
- Delivering exceptional guest experiences, consistent service - ensuring high performance and professional presentation;
- Ensure the vessel is in a clean, tidy, and presentable condition for the transport of passengers;
- Exceptional food and beverage delivery;
- Ensure the safety and comfort of full day guests;
- Safe securing and departure of ancillary vessel;
- Conducting safety briefings and presentations to the guests;
Whilst this role is unique and rewarding, it is physically demanding, requiring you to be on your feet for long periods of time. This Full Time Position offers a unique lifestyle roster, working 4 days one week and 3 the next. Never work a full weekend!
ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidate will love the outdoors, be enthusiastic, have a true passion for sharing knowledge and creating memorable guest experiences. You will be a team player with a demonstrated positive "can-do" attitude, be comfortable working on water, and always deliver high-quality professional customer service whilst being a proud of ambassador of Cruise Whitsundays and the area in which we operate.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Demonstrate excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills;
- Have the ability to manage time with strong organisational skills;
- Have a demonstrated ability to work autonomously and part of a team;
- Have guest service skills that are genuine and personable;
- Be yourself, who you are is important to us.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-years' experience in a similar Tour Guiding role, within the Tourism industry;
- Elements of Shipboard Safety Certificate;
- QLD Responsible Service of Alcohol;
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid amp; HLTAID015 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Apply Basic Oxygen;
Relevant hospitality qualifications such as Certificate III Hospitality will be highly regarded; Bronze Medallion/Cert II Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue) will be highly regarded; Drive to grow with the company and progress your Hospitality career.
