The Role
As the Financial Controller managing the finance team, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the Director of Finance and Zoomo’s executive team. The finance function supports company strategy, goals, reporting, FPNA, budgeting, capital raising, tax compliance, payroll, commercial finance and other areas. Expect to work cross-functionally to report on and realise company goals. This position is perfect for someone looking to make an immediate impact in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing the day-to-day accounting functions, including but not limited to monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing processes, AP/AR management, accounts reconciliation, cash management and financial reporting
- Ensuring the company's financial systems, policies, and controls are following the company's accounting structure
- Coordinating financial audits and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Achieving financial objectives by tracking variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
- Driving and supporting cost optimisation and alignment with budget goals
- Identifying and assessing financial risks and opportunities
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to analyse and evaluate capital projects and expenses
- Responsible for Group Taxation policies and compliance and liaising with the organisation’s tax advisors to deliver fit-for-purpose tax strategies
- Business finance lead in Zoomo’s planned future ERP implementation
- Working on a significant number of critical projects, such as working with the Product and Tech teams to develop the financial capabilities of our Platform and other offerings
- Oversee the administration of employee stock option plan (ESOP)
Requirements
- Chartered Accountant qualification (CPA/CA)
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- 5+ years combined accounting experience with 2+ years as a Financial Controller (in hard asset business)
- Sound understanding of IFRS/GAAP and accounting principles
- Working knowledge of tax compliance / local legislation in Australia and at least 2 of: United States, Canada, France, Germany, Spain and the UK
- Experience overseeing an accounting team and financial operations
- Experience in financial analysis, modelling, and budgeting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
