Job Description

Location: Australia; remote

Pay Rate: AUD 28 per hour

Contract: 20 hours per week, 6 months fixed term (with potential to extend)

Team Australia are looking for an experienced and innovative Content Adviser for the creation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples related content within the Australian product. They will be responsible for developing new areas of innovative resources to address the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures cross-curriculum priority within the Australian Curriculum. They will also work closely with the Australian Product Owners and be the first point of contact for other Australian Content Writers, providing support and guidance in the development of cross-curricular content.

The ideal candidate will have experience teaching in an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Peoples context, a working knowledge of the Australian Curriculum, and be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding and application of commonly accepted guidelines related to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples culture and history.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping those who teach by providing high quality resources that react to requirements of Australian educators and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples communities.

Ongoing projects/how you’ll spend your day:

  • Developing creative and innovative secondary resources to address the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures cross-curriculum priority within the Australian Curriculum.
  • Providing expertise, support and guidance to other Australian Content Writers in the development of cross-curricular content.
  • Reviewing any new content created that relates to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples histories, cultures and communities.
  • Consolidating and advising on the application of commonly accepted guidelines guidelines related to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples culture and history.
  • Attending daily stand ups with the wider production team.
  • Working directly with Australian Country Manager, Product Owners and Marketing Coordinator to identify future product opportunities.

We're interested in anyone who meets one, or a combination of the following:

  • Degree level Secondary teaching qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of active teaching in a secondary school.
  • A detailed knowledge of the Australian Curriculum, particularly Years 7-10.
  • Up to date knowledge of current AC initiatives with regards to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples histories and cultures cross-curriculum priority.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Peoples teaching context.
  • Fresh ideas and insight into teaching Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
  • Creative approach to lesson planning and resources.
  • Excellent ICT and communication skills.
  • Good spelling and grammar, with attention to detail.
