Job Description
Traverse Alpine Group, a prominent hospitality operator that delivers outstanding food amp; beverage services and hotels in remote areas, is seeking a talented Pastry Chef to join its growing team. This is an opportunity to work for the largest hospitality employer in Falls Creek and a growing employer in the Albury/Wodonga region. As a Pastry Chef, you will play a critical role in designing and delivering exceptional Famp;B offerings that appeal to skiers and non-skiers alike in Falls Creek and the entire local region in Albury/Wodonga. You will be responsible for supervising and training pastry staff, creating new dessert menus, ordering ingredients and supplies, maintaining high standards of food quality, and ensuring adherence to safety and sanitation guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and train pastry staff in the preparation, baking, and presentation of desserts
- Develop new dessert menus that are innovative, visually appealing, and delicious
- Oversee the ordering and inventory of baking ingredients and supplies
- Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation, ensuring that all desserts are made to order and meet customer expectations
- Ensure adherence to safety and sanitation guidelines in the pastry kitchen
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth and timely service
- Stay up-to-date with current pastry trends and techniques and share knowledge with the team
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef
- Excellent knowledge of ingredients and baking techniques
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Ability to create visually appealing and delicious desserts
- Understanding of safety and sanitation rules and procedures
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
