About the Role:

As the Carbon Projects Manager, you will play a vital role in overseeing and coordinating our large-scale initiatives to sequester CO2 in cropping systems. You will be responsible for managing projects from project onboarding and setup through to registration, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and achieving targeted objectives throughout. Your expertise in data-driven decision making, agriculture, and earth sciences will be critical in driving successful outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and deliver large, complex carbon projects, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations in Australia
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve processes and methodologies to monitor, measure, and report project performance, ensuring accurate documentation of carbon credits generated.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with external partners, regulatory bodies, and industry experts to stay informed about the latest carbon regulations and industry trends.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams, providing guidance, support, and motivation to ensure project milestones are achieved within budget and timeline constraints.
  • Utilise your deep understanding of agriculture, natural sciences, and earth sciences to evaluate project feasibility, identify potential risks, and propose effective mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, including agronomists, growers, and scientists, to define project objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Oversee administrative tasks related to project management, including budgeting, resource allocation, procurement, and contract management.
  • Conduct regular audits and quality control checks to ensure compliance with carbon accounting standards and protocols.
  • Communicate project progress, challenges, and achievements to key stakeholders through comprehensive reports, presentations, and meetings.
  • Managing and developing staff to support a high performing team
  • Industry engagement with a focus on financial and off farm advisors
  • Continuously evaluate project outcomes and identify areas for improvement, proposing innovative solutions to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in either; engineering, finance, economics, accountancy, law, agriculture science
  • Proven experience in program or project management, preferably in the agricultural or environmental sector, working with large-scale, complex initiatives.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven mindset and the ability to make informed decisions based on scientific and technical data.
  • Experience working with external stakeholders, such as growers, agronomists, or agricultural industry experts, with a solid understanding of farming practices and their impact on carbon emissions.
  • Exceptional organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams towards project objectives.
  • Experience in managing staff and developing high performing teams
  • Experience in industry engagement and strategic stakeholder management
  • Proficient in project management software and tools, as well as data analysis and reporting platforms.
  • Knowledge of carbon regulations and standards in Australia is advantageous, as is demonstrated experience in managing projects compliant with these regulation.
  • A self starter with the ability to work autonomously, with a strong attention to detail
