Welcome to Fonda where the coworkers are chill, vibes are ~immaculate~ and tort chips and guac are abundant.
Opening in Late July, our Canberra team is searching for our first Kitchen Manager, AKA a Kitchen Captain as we refer to at Fonda, to join our fun and quesa-cool team.
Fonda by name, fonder by nature.
Fonda is about bringing people together for an epic shared experience over fresh and fab Mexican food, and don’t forget the tasty AF drinks. Think icy (and spicy) margs, and a feel-good vibe, every damn day and night.
We have 9 locations across Victoria and NSW and are looking for an awesome Kitchen Captain (Chef) to join our team.
‘Mi casa su casa’ is what we’re all about. We're warm, we keep things fresh, and we’re down to earth. Basically, we want every Fondarian and customer to feel at home the moment they walk through our doors.
When we’re not perfecting our menu and service offering, we’re working at shaping the best work cultures in the industry, and we’ve got the burritos to prove it.
Now, here’s where you come in.
- Ensuring the smooth running of the kitchen, whether you're there or not!
- Steering the ship, err kitchen, on any given shift, leading by example and demonstrating best-practice at all of our back-of-house stations
- Write rosters, regular meetings with the Leadership team, understanding and managing COG's
- Deliver fresh, delicious and high-quality dishes that exceed expectations and leave people wanting more
- Ensure all dishes are plated-up on time and to perfection because every dish should be *chef’s kiss*
- Inspire epic guest reviews through the serving of high-quality dishes that nail both taste and presentation points
- Adhering to food safety plan and completing food safety records when required
- Take pride in the details, especially during busy times
- Make sure the kitchen is kept squeaky clean
- Ensure minimal food wastage and zero 'out-of-stock' situations
- Provide coaching and mentoring to all team members
- Stocktake at the end of shift, placing orders, checking quantity and quality of deliveries
- Work with a bunch of legends (aka fellow Fondarians)
Requirements
The perfect Kitchen Manager will be
- Experienced. As this is a Management position, you will need to have previously run a kitchen.
- Natural leaders Demonstrable leadership experience, ability to develop rapport, trust and develop our Fondarians.
- Guest-focused You are passionate about delivering exceptional food for our guests. You’ll see guests like they are friends or family visiting your home.
- Action-oriented You are positive, upbeat and solutionfocused. You enjoy a fast-paced environment and you’re able to get stuff done during quiet periods.
- Attentive You care about the little things and are process-driven. You’re knowledgeable about food safety and are committed to delivering a safe product, 100% of the time.
- Time - You must be able to work weekdays and have some weekend availability
