About the Role

  • Full Time, Maximum Term Contract until 31 March 2025
  • Classification: Senior Management and Specialist Remuneration Level 1 with a salary range of $103,522 - $121,425 per annum + Superannuation

About your new role

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Research and a Victorian Regional Manager (Vic Locals), the role will lead a two-year action research project to co-design, prototype, and test implementation of best practice approaches to integrated Mental Health/Alcohol and Other Drug treatment, care, and support in local communities. Leadership of the project includes planning, coordination of stakeholders, and delivery of intended outcomes (practice resources and a research report/publication(s)). Activities will involve a review of the literature and best practice approaches, recruitment and coordination of an expert advisory group to plan and provide oversight to the project and leadership of the action research project activities including protocol development, ethics, data collection, analysis and dissemination of findings.

Contribute to shaping reform in mental health and AOD services in Victoria in this action research role that seeks to pool expertise from lived experience, research and practice to design and test integrated mental health and AOD delivery in two of Victoria’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Local services in Whittlesea and La Trobe.

Work with a great research team (hybrid working arrangements) with some time embedded in service delivery teams.

What you will bring to the role?

  • Commitment to working in partnership with people with lived and living experience, including a willingness to share power, build relationships, remain curious, and ensure all activity is trauma informed and does no harm.
  • Evidence of project leadership and coordination and effective stakeholder engagement
  • Demonstrated experience in the conduct of qualitative and quantitative research and evaluation (may hold expertise in one or more methodologies, preferably mixed methods/participatory)
  • Knowledge and experience of analytic software e.g. SPSS, NVivo and referencing software
  • Formal higher degree research qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of research reports and publications
