Working within the Data Operations team in the PEXA Digital Growth Business, you will collaborate closely with the data engineers, cloud engineers, data scientists, other BAs, and product owners to gather, understand and translate business requirements relating to ingestion and storing data into technical user stories and functional requirements to ensure the data vision and goals are delivered in a timely manner. You will help stakeholders and teams understand the data assets and data flow from source through to consumption.What you'll be doing
- Identify and collect business requirements using interviews, groups sessions, case studies, research, and feedback.
- Able to elicit, translate and document business stories into technical requirements and provide input to support prioritisation.
- Guide team to break down large and complex user stories into simplified versions for execution.
- Conduct detailed analysis on new and existing data sources to produce field mapping and data type assessments.
- Identify and help resolve problems with data integrity and support data cleansing activities.
- Documenting our data asset via data flow diagrams, entity relationship diagrams and/or data schemas.
- Documenting and maintaining our data dictionaries and data catalogues.
- Write the test cases and test the user stories in conjunction with the data engineers for accuracy and compliance to ensure undisputed acceptance and validation of stories.
What you'll bring to the table
- Min 2 years demonstrated experience in Technical Business Analyst - Data role.
- Experience in documenting ETL pipelines
- Experience in developing system specifications or requirements
- Experience in functional / non-functional requirements gathering.
- Experience in business process and data mapping.
- Preference for experience with data models and database concepts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to articulate complex situations and information clearly.
- Basic SQL skills with the ability to extract data from systems for analysis.
- Experience of working within an agile organisation.
- Experience in using JIRA, Scrum boards and creating user stories and dashboards in JIRA.

- Experience with Cloud technology ideally AWS
- Exposure to GIS data
- Experience with API's
