Working as part of our Journey Beyond Group, you play an integral role in supporting our business to share special places and shape lasting memories.



ABOUT THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Sales Manager Australia amp; New Zealand, the Business Development Manager is critical to developing and diversifying business to increase revenue, and future growth of all Journey Beyond brands within the NSW amp; ACT markets. This position is also tasked with ensuring growth through approved campaigns and activities, in alignment with the strategic plan.

The role requires frequent local, regional and national travel. International travel may be required on an ad hoc basis.


KEY RESPONSBILITIES AND TASKS

Your role will focus on fostering relationships and leveraging opportunities with key trade partners through approved campaigns and activities to ensure the growth in revenue.

This will include:

  • Developing growth strategies and plans with NSW amp; ACT trade partners
  • Managing and retaining relationships with existing trade partners
  • Developing a sales expenses budget to support the agreed promotional calendar
  • Representing Journey Beyond and Journey Beyond Companies at Consumer and Trade shows
  • ROI reporting for strategic campaigns
  • Monitoring each of the key account’s websites and brochures, to guide and assist them in keeping information and imagery up to date
  • Setting and agreeing annual sales targets for all key accounts for each Journey Beyond business
  • Drafting and reviewing contracts
  • Following industry trends locally and internationally
  • Researching business opportunities and viable income streams
  • Negotiating with stakeholders
  • Having an in-depth knowledge of business products and value proposition


Your key KPIs/ deliverables will include;

  • Campaign, quarterly and annual growth revenue targets for all Journey Beyond products
  • Deliver campaigns planning and implementation ensuring timeliness and appropriate for our key partners delivering ROI to Journey Beyond businesses
  • Weekly in-store servicing and training targets
  • Management of State/Territory budget



TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

We are seeking someone with strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills (retail agents, wholesale agents, monitoring organisations, State tourism operators, Local peak industry tourism bodies and more), strong written and verbal communications skills, strong written and verbal communication skills and professional personal presentation.

You will love interpreting data and building strong stakeholder relationships and enjoy contributing positively to team culture.

Previous experience in domestic tourism industry is preferred. A post-graduate qualification in a Tourism or related field is desirable.
