We’re Cowry, the digital experiences team within Australian Payments Plus. Given we’re relatively new here, let’s start by introducing ourselves. AP+ is a family of cornerstone businesses you’d know; BPAY, eftpos, NPP, and while you haven't heard of ‘Cowry’ you probably have heard of a little digital wallet with over 1.5M customers called Beem which is just one of the products powered by us.

We’re adding a Mid Level Back-End Developer to our already thriving team. As a Mid Level Back-End Developer at Cowry you’ll make meaningful contributions to the function and the team by extending and maintaining features from our mission-critical applications as well as collaborating with other engineers on designing and delivery of new features.

Day to day here’s what you can expect do to;

  • Liaising with security consultants to ensure the platform is secure
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (Technology, Risk, Product) on delivery of new features
  • Maintaining and developing new backend services
  • Participate in technical discovery and design
  • Identify technology improvement and transformation opportunities to enhance customer service, reduce operating costs, and maximise speed of implementation

We’d love to hear from you if you have;

  • 2+ years of development experience in Javascript (Typescript preferred)
  • Experience building rest APIs and microservices
  • Familiarity with developing serverless applications in AWS
  • Experience with maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Good problem-solving skills, who view coding as a creative outlet
  • The ability to work independently, and to see where their work fits into the bigger picture
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • The ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical team members, especially remotely
