Working as part of our Journey Beyond Group, you play an integral role in supporting our business to share special places and shape lasting memories.


ABOUT THE ROLE:

As the Finance Manager you will report to the Executive GM Journey Beyond Rail Expeditions (Operational) and GM Finance Operations (Functional) while supporting Journey Beyond Rail Expeditions business using a true finance partnering model.

This will involve you partnering with key stakeholders by providing real-time, accurate and meaningful financial information designed to drive strategies and commercial decisions which maximise value and manage risk.

Working with the wider Finance team you will establish tools and frameworks that will be consistently relevant to the Group for current and future planning and performance.

Your working week will be split between Journey Beyond’s Head Office in North Terrace, the Rail terminal at Keswick and WFH.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring and understanding operations and business performance to identify key issues and ensure actions are taken to address budget shortfalls.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial management reports and analysis to inform, support and influence management decision making.
  • Support the General Managers to align business planning, strategies and operations to strategic business directions and financial imperatives.
  • Support through the annual business planning process including budget and forecast preparation and regular progress reporting and ensure appropriate support is provided.
  • Partner with business to identify and drive profit improvement.
  • Support the achievement of Journey Beyond projects across all operational departments.
  • Provide analytical and business case support for investment decisions including financial modelling and scenario analysis.
  • Identify, develop and implement documented process improvements.
  • Facilitate the link between head office and the businesses by coordinating appropriate access to support and ensuring effective communication on business issues and central finance policies and requirements.


TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

You will have degree qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline and CA/CPA or similar, along with previous experience in Management Accounting, financial system amp; financial reporting systems and strong business partnering. You will also have a thorough understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and other government regulations.

You will be reliable, professional, organised and show initiative, while also demonstrating a strong customer service orientation and have an exceptional business acumen. You will be able to develop and leverage strong relationships with key senior stakeholders to influence decisions.
