The Business

Proudly part of the Hornblower Group, Journey Beyond is a national business focused on bringing Australia’s most unique and iconic experiences to life. Our aim is to take guests beyond, to ignite their imagination and to transform the amazing into the breath-taking.

Our suite of iconic tourism brands stretches across Australia’s beautiful coastline and deep into the heart of our continent’s rich landscape. We own and operate Journey Beyond Rail Expeditions (The Ghan, Indian Pacific, Great Southern and The Overland), Rottnest Express, Cruise Whitsundays, Darwin Harbour Cruises, Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef, Outback Spirit, Melbourne Skydeck, Eureka 89, Journey Beyond Cruise Sydney and Horizontal Falls Seaplane Adventures.

Horizontal Falls Seaplane Adventures is the largest and most experienced tourism operator at Horizontal Falls in the Kimberley. Off the back of a bumper season with plans to make each year bigger and better we’re inviting you to come along for the journey.

The Role

We are seeking expressions of interest for an exciting new position flying a Cessna 208 Caravan landplane alongside our seaplane operation in Broome, WA. This newly developed role is responsible for conducting passenger transfers in a landplane C208 Caravan, meeting our seaplanes at multiple ports across the Kimberley.

Additional duties as part of this role include:

  • Supporting other pilots in the team with pre and post flight duties
  • Cleaning and upkeep of aircraft
  • General maintenance of the base
  • Assisting the operations team with adhoc duties as required

Who are we looking for?

Enthusiastic, self-motivated individuals with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who are as eager as we are to ensure that our guests receive the trip of a lifetime. A strong commitment to safety will be at the core of everything that you do. You will have the right to work in Australia, the ability to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) and the ability to conduct a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.

Minimum experience:

  • CASA commercial pilots license (A)
  • CASA Class 1 aviation medical
  • 1000 hours total flight time
  • 500 hours pilot in command
  • GTE Endorsement
  • MPPC Endorsement
  • C208 Flight Review

Current IPC or NVFR rating, Floatplane Endorsement and 25 hours on C208 are highly desirable.

A great team environment and professional development opportunities within a dynamic business are on offer. We look forward to hearing from you.
